AcademyACL helped my children develop their strengths & advocate for their needs. My son is a voracious reader, who was constantly challenging the depth & complexity of the big ideas across all subject areas. Rather than being asked to be quiet or put in a corner to work by himself, his teachers asked him to contribute his ideas, while teaching him to be flexible & patient. In contrast, my daughter-who is nothing like her brother-was quietly successful at grade level until her strengths fell into place. Then, b/c her teachers were constantly looking for growth, she was seen for those strengths. The structure of AcademyACL allowed both kids to learn at their instructional levels rather than their grade levels.
Today, both of my children will tell you that they didn't really learn much after leaving AcademyACL until later in high school. I believe that AcademyACL gave them a strong foundation of background knowledge while challenging them to be strong writers & analyzers of information.
