PAACL Officers
Sharon is excited to have found AcademyACL as her passion is finding educational systems that truly meet student needs, especially those of her own children. By day she is a professor of Sociology and by night a parent of Kaleb (DV) and Trent Bjorkman (DIV).
Joel is the proud father of Tabetha (DII). He and his wife Ann have lived in Colorado Springs for twenty years and enjoy hiking, contract bridge, and being parents. Joel’s first career was as a perpetual student where he accumulated several degrees in Chemical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, and Physics. He now works as the director of R&D and co-owner of a small environmental instrumentation company.
Heather is a former newspaper editor and attorney and is now the proud and busy mom of Jackson (D-IV), Connor (D-II), and Gillian (age 3). She and her husband, Chad, have lived in Colorado Springs for eight years. The whole family loves to be outdoors and enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, horseback riding, and camping. They are grateful to be part of AcademyACL.
Beaty Nelsestuen is mom to Anya (DII) and Anika (DIII). In free moments Beaty loves to hike, read, sew and cook. Beaty’s family has lived in Colorado Springs for 12 years and loves this city. Before being a mom Beaty was a ballet dancer for a company in North Carolina after earning a BFA from the University of Utah.
