Board President: Julie Ott, M.A. <> Term: 2010-2013 (PE)
Julie is a parent serving as Board President. She has experience with twice-exceptional children, has worked in the non-profit and environmental fields, and currently volunteers with various organizations, including scouting and the League of Women Voters. She served as Board Secretary from 2010 to 2012.
Board Vice-President: Kevin Binkley <> Term: 2012-2015 (PE)
Kevin is a parent serving as Board Vice President. He has over 15 years of experience in the environmental consulting and advisory field as an environmental scientist, senior consultant, and division manager. His experience has included advising financial and investment companies, lending institutions, and industries in the areas of environmental risk management, liabilities, compliance, and remediation. Kevin’s experience also includes service as a business advisor to a non-profit environmental outreach program and a sustainably-focused startup company.

Board Treasurer: Scott Marcy <> Term: 2010-2013 (BE)
Scott is a parent serving as Board Treasurer. He uses his expertise as a software engineer for Apple Inc., as a writer of educational software, and as a co-founder of a private preschool to guide the group in various aspects of school startup, with an emphasis on technology. He served as Board President from 2009 to 2012.
Board Director: Judith Casey <> Term 2011-2014 (BE)
Judy Casey has served as a classroom teacher, K-12 literacy director, and elementary principal. She has been active in literacy organizations at the local and state levels in Wisconsin and Colorado. She taught undergraduate and graduate classes for many years. Since retirement from public schools in 2002, Judy has supervised future teachers and principals.

Board Director: Stephanie Schmuecker, CPA <> Term: 2010-2013 (BE)
Stephanie is a community representative serving as a Board Member. She has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and she brings her public accounting experience at BKD, LLP in working with not-for-profits and governments to the Board. Stephanie has a passion for working for children and seeing that they have the opportunity and resources to explore and grow both educationally and individually.
Board Director: Andy Unwin <> Term: 2012-2015 (BE)
Andy is a parent serving as a Board Member. He has practical experience working with gifted and twice-exceptional children. He enjoys spending time with his family and is heartened by the niche that AACL will fill in the community. Andy works with satellite systems as a contractor for the Air Force and as a Colorado Army National Guard officer.
Academy for Advanced and Creative Learning (AcademyACL) is seeking quality board members from the community. The AcademyACL Governing Board oversees school policy and direction. The Board is made up of three parent members, elected by Parents of Academy for Advanced and Creative Learning (PAACL) and six community members elected by the Board. The Board Development Committee (BDC) collects names on a year-round basis and recommends candidates for Board consideration. Community board members are elected in June.  All board terms begin on July 1st unless open seats are being filled.

Desired skills include Fundraising/Capital Campaign, Law, Partnerships (business, academic/school, service, community), Strategic/Long-Range Planning, Accounting and Human Resources.
